about

This third installment in the LAYERS-series includes fewer tracks than the first two playlists, because the durations of the individual tracks are longer, especially track 4, "Borel-Mix: Dark Arts." This selection is also special in the respect that the piece was assembled entirely by Felix Borel on May 7th out of excerpts from a bass drum track by Michael Kiedaisch and from several different cello tracks which Scott Roller had offered as "Elements" on May 3rd – to which he improvised inside a piano and added several tracks of viola.

"Short story" was a thread initiated by Felix Borel on April 15th, to which Scott soon played, followed later by Michael Kiedaisch on vibes and Felix Behringer on bass clarinet. It is a complex quodlibet of diverse actions from all four musicians.
"Singing Bass Drum" is based on a track by Michael from April 28th, to which Scott added several cello lines.
